INTRODUCTION Meet Carson. He lost tooth No. 9 at the tender age of 14 after a battle to resolve its developmental impaction (Figure 1) and reoccurring infections (Figures 2 to 5). He had multiple failed Maryland bridges (Figure 6), and his current dentist had told him there was nothing further they could do to help him. Carson’s orthodontist, who had been overseeing the case for 6 years, referred the family to me.
