INTRODUCTION The past 3 years of experience in our practice have made it clear that 3D printing provides numerous benefits for patients and practices alike. The digital impression-taking process is far more comfortable for the patient than the conventional process of using an alginate and pouring it up in stone. The 3D printing process eliminates the bubbles and imperfections often resulting from the conventional fabrication approach while delivering far better precision and durability.

INTRODUCTION For anyone who has been involved with an All-on-4 procedure, the thought of going into surgery with no interim ready to convert may not only sound strange but quite scary. As prosthodontists, we have been involved in hundreds of these cases and had the teeth ready to convert hundreds of times. So why would we now intentionally begin a surgery without the teeth?

After over 30 years working in, owning, and building dental practices in Canada and the United States, there are some truisms that are pretty much common to any practice, large or small. Performing dentistry is demanding, as is running a profitable business, especially with rising costs and a slowing economy. Nevertheless, there are a few great ways to impact your bottom line favorably, simply by paying attention to the line item on your P&L for dental supplies.
I realize this is the second post in a row on the ADA. I also don't want you readers to think that I am 'anti-ADA' or in anyway anti organized dentistry. That's certainly not the case. I've been a member of the ADA since the mid-1990s and I've belonged to the AGD the same amount of time. I've also spoken at the ADA meeting (now Smilecon) practically every year since they embraced technology with the ADA Technology Day back in 1998.

The Maine Veterans’ Dental Network (MVDN) recently received a significant boost with a $300,000 grant from Northeast Delta Dental. Established in 2021 to aid veterans lacking dental coverage, the MVDN has been pivotal in providing oral healthcare to veterans unable to afford it. The program, operated in collaboration with nonprofit dental clinics, federally qualified health centers, and Maine’s dental education programs, operates on a first-come, first-serve basis until grant funds are depleted.
INTRODUCTION Clinical procedures concerning the need for posts and the protocol for core buildups in endodontically treated teeth have evolved significantly over the last few decades with the advent of dentin bonding protocols. Likewise, the dental literature has evolved yet is fraught with contradictions.
