More Than Half of Private Dental Practices Have Seen Patient Volumes Return

The American Dental Association Health Policy Institute’s survey results from the week of April 12, 2021, show that 58.1% of private dental practices are open with similar patient volumes seen prior to the global pandemic. Forty-one percent said they were open but with lower than typical patient volumes. For comparison, during the week of April 20, 2020, 79.4% of dental practices were closed, seeing emergency patients only, and 18.9% were closed to all patients.
