Wisdom teeth , or third molars, are the final adult teeth that erupt in the mouth. They typically come in between the ages of 17-21. Many people don’t have enough room for wisdom teeth, which is why they must be removed. Most people recover in 3-4 days from wisdom teeth removal surgery, but full recovery may take a week or more. Complex extraction of impacted wisdom teeth that were already causing symptoms may require longer healing time, closer to 2 weeks.
